Our Water Mist systems are designed and installed to comply with British Standard BS848 depending on the projects own very specific design.
A Water Mist suppression system is designed to improve on the basic process by producing a finer spray (also known as mist), resulting in a very effective way of ensuring that water evaporates quicker. In the event of a water mist system operating, the small water droplets allow the water mist to control, supress or extinguish fires by cooling the flame and surrounding gases by evaporation, displacing oxygen by evaporation and attenuating radiant heat by the small droplets themselves.
The advantages of using a water mist system would include immediate activation, high efficient in the suppression of a wide variety of fires, minimized water damage and no toxic problems.
A mist system generally operates at a higher pressure than a standard conventional sprinkler system being as effective if not more despite the reduced quantity of water used.
